The pressure lock locks and seals the tank when pressure builds up inside the tank. A particularly important safety device, prevents the user from opening the cap when the tank is under pressure.

The seals of the pressure lock are wearing parts and the function of the lock itself may be impaired due to limescale deposits. The replacement requires tools, the body part must be threaded into the inside of the tank through the hole in the filler neck.
